This historic five-bedroom property (once used by the Duke of Northumberland himself) combines old-world character with modern comforts. Just steps from the high street yet surprisingly peaceful, it's the perfect base for exploring the North Pennines.

Prudhoe Cottage Reviews

This house was perfect for our family of 8 easily could of had a few more comfortably. House is very rustic, great living spaces, spacious bedrooms, kitchen was set up with just about everything you many need. 4 bathrooms is a bonus. So close to everything, and funny how none of the locals know where it is. just hidden right on the main street and surprised at how quiet it is inside bus stops right out side, grocery store, bakery, pharmacy, and late night food available, and the pub all within 5 min walking distance. We were all very happy to find this treasure and will plan to stay here on future visits. Thank you so much for letting us use this awesome house.
Annette
House very clean and tidy with extras which were appreciated. Hot tub area and garden very nice and Prudhoe village itself was lovely plenty of takeaways and shops and some lovely walks. Probably the only bugbears were the rubbish collection we were unsure what to do about it and the downstairs bathroom which had a very dodgy door and an unusual sink which couldn't be used to shave . All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend the property.
A well equipped kitchen including coffee machine tassimo pods. WIFI password includes an l not a number 1
Was lovely to walk into a property that was clean and welcoming. Cooker could have been bigger when catering for 10 people. Mirror on hallway kept falling off when walking past and could do with proper fixing. But a great holiday with amenities close by.Thank you
On first entering, the cottage looked clean and welcoming the welcome pack, baskets of towels & toiletries were much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay very much much but offer the following small points for improvement which would make a big difference to what is a lovely house. Cleaning It is a big house to clean and turn around between visitors but more attention needs to be given to cleanliness particularly under toilet seats which were dirty & under beds, sofas etc where we found sweets and other bits & bobs. Rubbish & recycling facilities this really was inadequate with no access to bins beyond an instruction to leave bin bags in a certain place there were 10 of us and over a week, generated a lot of rubbish which piled up and began to smell. Incidentally, on attending the local church service on the Sunday, we received a complaint from one of the neighbours about rubbish from the cottage filling up the bins which we did not even have access to. Maintenance The downstairs toilet door needs better repair as it kept falling off the fittings its a plastic concertina caravan type door The gripper rods on stairs need attention they poked through the carpet at the back of the steps and we had several skinned heels as a result The gardens need attention beyond cutting the grass borders and paths and the area around the hot tub need weeding because it just made the place look unloved. Some helpful additions would be enough wine glasses for 10 people there were loads of pint glasses clearly relocated from the pub but only 6 wine glasses and enough garden chairs for 10 people too. This is meant to be helpful feedback rather than acomplaint

This was a really lovely, spacious, clean and comfortable character cottage which was ideal for our 3 generation group. Comfortable beds and plenty showersbathroomstowels for everyone. The kitchen was eqipped with everything you could need and the welcome pack was just that! Everyone enjoyed the garden and the hot tubbbq area was ideal for us, a real suntrap. We really enjoyed our week in Prudhoe, a very friendly and welcoming town and a great location for accessing Newcastle, Whitley Bay and Hexham. Thank you Jackie!
A lovely big old house. It was big enough to comfortably house the 10 of us for a family get together, even if the weather wasn't great. Prudhoe is a nice little town. Eat out at Ollie and Joe's, takeaway from Ball's, and drink at the Falcon.

Cottage was in a great location close to Newcastle for a night out. Cottage had everything we needed lots of towels, shower gel, tea coffee. It was always very tidy and we enjoyed the outdoor space and hot tub immensely. The only downside was lack of communication, we were panicking a bit on the lead up to the visit as we didn't have the code to get in and were unable to get a hold of the owner or sykes cottages. Eventually we got the code from sykes but still had little communication from the owner which was a shame.
The cottage met our expectations for our family holiday being comfortable, quiet and clean and in a convenient location for access to Newcastle and Hadrians Wall. Our request for a BBQ was met in full and this enabled us to enjoy the hot tub area. The welcome pack pack was most appreciated!
Debbie
We had a very enjoyable stay at the property, it was clean, spacious, comfortable and the goodies left for us were a lovely bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. We would stay again. We made full use of the excellent local bus services with stops outside the door.
Alison
We spent a week at the cottage over Easter and we found it to be ideal for our family holiday and was a great base for visiting Hadrian's wall. We found some nice local routes for walking the dog down by the Castle and along the River. Jackie was really helpful answering questions before our stay and she went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed for a comfortable stay. The provisions left for us on arrival were much appreciated.
This property was great, with all amenities, beds so comfy, living room lovely and relaxing, very spacious. Wifi great if needing to work during stay. Hosts were brilliant quickly resolved any issues all very minor. Everything close by in terms of shops, restaurants, bars & local leisure centre. Had a fabulous stay

House was gorgeous and in a great location too. The rooms were large and spacious with comfortable beds. Loved the open fire and the property had a large dining table with plenty of crockery and utensils. Large washing machine and dishwasher which was made full use of. Unfortunately did not get to use the hot tub and couldnt find any spare towels. On the negative side there only appeared to be a wardrobe in one of the bedrooms and a small rail in the other double room. The rooms were plenty big enough to take a wardrobe. The twin rooms just had a rail too which is not ideal as we were staying for a week. There were only 2 dishwasher tablets left and one toilet roll per bathroom. Due to accommodating 10 guests I expected to buy extras but thought more could have been left. Even though the lounge was spacious it couldve probably taken another chairtwo seater in order that we couldve been a little more comfortable of an evening. We also asked for a cot which was available but did not appear to have any fixings to hold it together. We didnt ask for the high chair but I would have assumed they would have also made one available. Only minor issues which I am sure can be addressed. Due to our booking being over the Christmas period and we were cooking a full dinner we had requested a visit to the cottage prior to see what utensils etc were available. Maz very kindly met me there and showed us around which was very good of her. On the whole it was a beautiful house and we had an absolutely fantastic stay over the Christmas period. Would definitely recommend for a family gathering and also close to the train station for visiting NewcastleTynemouth etc. Would definitely stay again and we had a wonderful Christmas there.
Had good communication from Maz tight from the start. She was very helpful about days out and really wanted us to enjoy our stay. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and Maz had got us a card and a bottle of prosecco to enjoy on arrival. We had a problem logging on to the WiFi and she came round to help immediately. The house was lovely warm and cosy and we really enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings. The beds were comfy and we wanted for nothing. It was truly a home from home. Prudhoe itself is a lovely village and I would love to return again for another stay. Thank you Maz for making us feel at home. PS The Falcon in the village does the best carvery in the UK!

Prudhoe Cottage is perfectly positioned within Prudhoe, with shops only a stroll away, however peace and quiet was enjoyed. We had really good communication from Maz who manages the property. The only disappointment would be the hot tub which was the reason for booking Prudhoe Cottage as a surprise for my mum and her friend.... the lid of the hot tub is not hinged to the body of the hot tub and therefore very heavy and cumbersome to move, especially hitting the top of the wooden pergola above the hot tub.... we only used the hot tub twice due to the lid issues, my mum and her friend are both in their late 60's and I couldn't move the lid on my own.
Fabulous cottage and location, nice welcome pack such as tea, coffee, milk and sugar plus a bonus bottle of wine. Owner kept in touch to make sure everything is ok. Would definitely recommend and will consider going back again. Regards John

The house proved ideal for our family gettogether. The house manager, Marzena Marzec Maz provided excellent support responding to our queries in a prompt and friendly manner. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the whole house and our 'boys' really did enjoy the 'hot tub'.
A good stay in a very comfortable cottage with a good garden. Central to the village but also quiet. The communication was excellent and Maz who manages the property was very helpful.

We had a lovely short break at prudhoe cottage, on arrival the house was very clean and a lovely welcome gift was waiting for us, all useful information was provided in a folder by the owner. We would highly recommend a stay here.
